On Monday, June 5th, at approximately 5:30 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to a south Brownwood business in reference to an aggravated robbery. After investigation, Cynthia Jo Gatliff, pictured at top, was arrested and booked into the Brown County Jail for the aforementioned offense without incident. The report listed the weapon allegedly used by Gatliff to be a knife.

Gatliff was arrested in May 2005 on an indictment for Sexual Assault of a Child, according to jail records. Gatliff is currently being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of a $75,000 bond.

Thursday, June 1st

*7:00 p.m. Brownwood Police arrived at the 500 block of Valley Street for an investigation. During the investigation, a suspect identified as Jeffery Hamill ran from police. Hamill was located and placed under arrest for evading arrest/detention. Hamill was found to be in possession of two items consistent with drug paraphernalia.

 

Monday, June 5th

*12:00 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of 2nd Street regarding criminal mischief. A church had been spray painted by vandals, causing damages estimated to be over $750.

*1:00 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to a call from the 1600 block of 6th Street in reference to a burglary. A known suspect was listed, and fingerprints were collected at the scene.

*7:00 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of 2nd Street in reference to a theft. According to the report, a yellow golf cart had been stolen by known suspects. An investigation is ongoing.

*8:15 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to 700 block of W. Commerce Street for a theft. Upon arriving, officers spoke with the complainant who stated a male stole money from the cash register. A report was filed.
