Brownwood News – On Sunday, August 20th, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers with the Brownwood Police Department were dispatched to the drive-thru of McDonald’s regarding a driver of a vehicle passed out in the take-out line.

Upon arrival, officers discovered 50 year old Joaquin Pesina of Early, asleep in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. The engine was running and the vehicle was still in drive. Officers were able to place the vehicle in park and, after several attempts, were able to wake Mr. Pesina, according to their report.

Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were conducted and Mr. Pesina was arrested for driving under the influence. Mr Pesina was transported to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center for a sample of his blood. Prior to, and while retrieving a sample of his blood, Mr. Pesina became defiant and combative.

Apparently he wasn’t ‘loving it.

Joaquin Pesina was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, 3rd or More Offense, and Resisting Arrest, Search, or Transport.

Friday, August 18th

*6:50 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Brady Avenue  in reference a theft of a motor vehicle.

*7:46 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Southside Dr. in reference to a burglary of a vehicle.

*8:20 a.m. Brownwood Police spoke to a female subject by telephone regarding an illegal tattoo. Officers met with the complainant who reported that an unknown male subject was asked to come to her residence and, upon arrival, gave her a tattoo that was now infected. The investigation remains ongoing.

*4:59 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to a south Brownwood address in reference to an identity theft. Upon arrival, officers met with the complainant who informed them that someone had opened an account using her social security number without her permission. The complainant stated she wished to pursue charges.

*6:57 p.m. Brownwood Police arrived at the 1900 block of Avenue B in reference to an assault. Jesse Basquez was arrested for assault family violence.

 

Saturday, August 19th

*8:19 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3800 block of 4th street in reference to a theft. Officers met with the victim and took notes, as well as photographs of a possible suspect’s shoe prints.

*2:46 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to a south Brownwood address in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, officers made contact with both parties involved. After speaking with both subjects about the incident, they both advised they wished to pursue charges.

*5:00 p.m. Brownwood Police spoke with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding a terrorist threat.

*5:00 p.m. Brownwood Police spoke with an individual at the Law Enforcement Center regarding found property. A brown clutch purse was put into evidence for safe keeping.

*8:35 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Coggin Avenue in reference to a theft. Information was obtained and a suspect was identified. The suspect was later issued a citation for theft less than $100, after allegedly stealing a six-pack of Bud Ice and some candy.

Sunday, August 20th

*5:22 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of 13th Street in reference to an assault call. Information was obtained and photographs were taken of the injuries. A suspect was named. The investigation continues.

*7:24 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the intersection of 7th and Avenue E in reference to an assault call that had already occurred. Information was obtained and a report was generated. The suspect was named and photographs of the injures were taken. Investigation continues.

*10:30 p.m. Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Commerce Street in reference to a theft.
