Brownwood News – The following calls for service were responded to by the Brownwood Police Department and Brown County Sheriff’s Department.
BROWNWOOD POLICE BLOTTER
On 11/29/2019, Brownwood officers took a walk-in regards to an assault. A report has been generated.
On Wednesday, November 27, 2019, officers were made aware of a criminal mischief that occurred previously during the day while on another call. Officers were told a male subject damaged the victim’s windshield on her vehicle with a flashlight. Information was gathered from the victim and a report was generated.
On Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at approximately 15:23 hours, Officer Weaver was dispatched to 1050 W Commerce St (Law Enforcement Center) in reference to terroristic threat. Officer Weaver arrived on scene and spoke with the complainant in regards to the incident. A report has been made.
On Thursday, November 28, 2019 at approximately 23:49 hours, a Brownwood Police Officer was dispatched to the 2000 block of Vine Street in reference to a domestic disturbance report. A report has been generated.
On Thursday November 28, 2019 at approximately 23:00 hours, officers were dispatched to a residence located within the 1700 block of Magnolia St in reference to a Domestic Disturbance. An investigation ensued and one male was placed into custody. A report was generated.
On Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at approximately 10:37 hours, Officer Weaver was dispatched to the 400 block of W Commerce St in reference to a civil matter. The officer arrived on scene and spoke with the complainant in regards to the incident. A report has been made.
On November 27, 2019 at approximately 09:11 hours officers with Brownwood PD responded to the 2300 block of Dartmore St for domestic violence. One subject was arrested and a report was generated in reference to this call.
On November 27, 2019 Officers with Brownwood PD responded to the 2600 block of Austin Ave. for a theft. A report was generated in reference to this call.
While on patrol on November 27, 2019, at approximately 12:45 hours, Officers were dispatched to the unit block of Alpine Court in about Criminal Mischief. Officers made contact with the reporting party and a report was completed.
On Saturday, November 30, 2019 at approximately 06:10 hours, Brownwood Police Officers were dispatched to a South Brownwood address in the 1300 block of Avenue B in reference to a hit and run. A report was generated for this incident. One juvenile was issued citation.
On Monday, November 27, 2019 at approximately 21:21 hours, a Brownwood Police Officer conducted a stop on a cyclist in the 1600 block of 7th Street. One subject was arrested for Man/Del Controlled Substance PG1 >=4g<200G (Methamphetamine), Possession of Marijuana<2OZ, Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence, and Evading Arrest Detention.
On 11-26-19 at approximately 15:40 hrs, Brownwood Police Officers were called to assist adult probation at a south Brownwood address in the 3300 block of Stephen F. Austin. During the call, a quantity of methamphetamine was located. Subject was arrested and transported to the Brown Co Jail.
On Thursday, November 28, 2019, at approximately 04:43 hours, Officer Donahoo and FTO Tidwell, observed a suspicious vehicle in the 1000 block of Riverside Park Drive. An investigation was completed and a citation was issued for Possession of Alcohol by a Minor.
On Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at approximately 15:53 hours, Brownwood Police Officers were dispatched to a north Brownwood address in the 300 block of Bluffview Drive in reference to a Domestic. A report was generated for this incident.
On 11/30/2019 Brownwood officers were dispatched to 16th street in regards to a burglary of a building. A report has been generated.
On 11/30/2019 Brownwood Officers were dispatched to Hunters Run in reference to an assault. A report has been generated.
On 12/01/2019 Brownwood officers were dispatched to Walmart in reference to a hit and run. A report has been generated.
On Saturday, November 30, 2019 at approximately 14:30 hours, Brownwood Police Officers were dispatched to a north Brownwood address in the 100 block of Melwood in reference to Criminal Mischief. A report was generated for this incident.
On 11-30-19 at approximately 17:19 hrs, Brownwood Police Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Bluffview Drive in reference to a domestic disturbance. During this call, a female reported that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The suspect was located and was arrested on an unrelated warrant. An active report for assault was generated.
On Sunday, December 1, 2019, at approximately 01:18 Hrs, Officer Bowman was dispatched to a South Brownwood apartment complex in the 2000 block of Slayden Street in reference to a Domestic Disturbance. While en route, dispatch informed Officer Bowman that the female involved had slapped another subject. Upon arrival, the Officer met with the caller who advised that her father and a female had been in an argument and during the argument the female had slapped her father. During this investigation, the female also stated that the male had pushed her down. The male advised that he did not wish to pursue charges and both parties were separated. A report was generated and completed.
On 12/1/2019 at approximately 15:28 hours, officers were dispatched to a business in the 1200 block of Looney St. for a follow up in reference to harassment.
On Sunday, December 1, 2019 at approximately 16:12 hours, Officer were dispatched to domestic disturbance at a south Brownwood residence in the 1700 block of 10th Street. An arrested was made for Criminal Mischief.
On Sunday December 1st, 2019 at approximately 16:00 hours, Officers with the Brownwood Police Department responded to a Criminal Mischief call in the 2000 block of Belle Plain.
On Sunday, December 01, 2019 at approximately 21:30 hours, Officer Risdon was dispatched to a south Brownwood address in the 4200 block of 4th Street regarding a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival an investigation and a report was completed.
BROWN COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT
On November 27, at about 14:11 hours, while on uniformed patrol in a marked Brown County Sheriff’s Office patrol unit, Deputy Davis was dispatched to Cottage Street in Brownwood. This was regarding a previous theft which occurred at the intersection of County Road 338 and Sendera Drive in Early.
On Thursday, November 28, at 10:06 hours, Deputy Bastardo was dispatched to U.S. Highway 377 South. This was in regards to an unresponsive person in a vehicle. Upon arrival, the individual was identified and taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated.
On November 28, 2019, Deputy Smoot responded to West Main Blvd. to a suspect’s residence for a mugging. After arriving on scene, the officer reports the suspect had a cut on his head and was checked out by the Fire Department. The man stated he was mugged and someone pushed him into the toilet. Deputy Smoot determined the man’s story wasn’t true. He was arrested for False Report to a Peach Officer and Resisting Arrest.
On November 29, at about 16:43 hours, deputies responded to the intersection of County Road 274 and County Road 278. This was in regards to a male subject trespassing on railroad property. Deputy Simpson located a man on the train tracks. The man did not have consent to be on the train tracks and also left a bag containing numerous items on the tracks. He was arrested for Class C Misdemeanor Interference of Railroad Property. He was taken to the Brown County Jail.
On November 30, Deputy Fabbiani performed a traffic stop in the 3800 block of U.S. Highway 279 for speeding. The driver of the vehicle was identified. While making contact with the male driver, Deputy Fabbiani could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search was conducted and the man was placed in custody for Possession of Marijuana and taken to Brown County Jail.
Deputy Burke was dispatched to a local medical clinic in reference to an animal bite report and investigation. The location was the 8000 block of County Road 603.
On November 30, at about 12:06 hours, Deputy Langley arrived on County Road 269 in Brownwood. This was in regards to a burglary. Deputy Langley spoke with a woman who stated someone had broken into her storage shed and took her riding lawn mower without her consent.
On November 30, at about 12:59 hours, Deputy Langley arrived at the Brownwood Law Enforcement Center in regards to an assault. Deputy Langley spoke to a man who said his wife had hit him with a glass bottle after a verbal argument.
On November 30, Deputy Fletcher performed a traffic stop on the black 2017 Dodge Challenger for expired registration. The male driver was arrested for an active parole warrant. During a consent search, a small green box, magnetically attached to the bottom of the driver’s seat, was found containing a distribution amount of approximately 28.8 grams of methamphetamine. The passenger, a female, who was the owner of the car, was also arrested. Both were charged with 1st Degree Felony Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, 4 to 200 grams, in a Drug Free Zone and 2nd Degree Felony Unlawful Use of a Criminal Instrument.
On Sunday, December 1, at about 01:16 hours, Deputy Simpson and Deputy Fabbiani responded to the area of 20,000 block of Highway 279 in regards to a reckless driver who was all over the roadway. The vehicle was a tan older model Ford F150 pickup. The driver was later identified as a man who had almost hit the caller. Deputy Simpson located the man on Highway 279 just north of County Road 129. As Deputy Simpson was turning around, Deputy Simpson watched the man drive into the oncoming traffic lane, almost striking Deputy Fabbiani head on. Deputy Simpson initiated the traffic stop. The man drove about 1.25 miles before stopping. Deputies performed the Standardized Field Sobriety Test. He was taken into custody for Class B Misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated and Class B Misdemeanor Reckless Driving. He was taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for a blood draw. He was later taken to the Brown County Jail where he was released to jail staff.
On December 1, Deputy Fletcher responded on Belle Plain Street to a reckless driver. The driver who was stopped had reportedly peeled out in a business parking lot. The owner of the business claimed damage done to his property. This reports supplements the corresponding Brownwood Police report.
On December 1, at approximately 21:02 hours, Deputy Fabbiani was patrolling the 5000 block of U.S. Highway 377 East. The roadway in this area is separated by a grassy median and has 2 westbound lanes and 2 eastbound lanes. While Deputy Fabbiani was traveling eastbound in the outside lane, a Ford F150 was driving westbound on the inside eastbound lane passing the deputy. The vehicle was stopped near the intersection of FM 3100. After investigation a man was placed in custody for Driving While Intoxicated and taken to Brown County Jail.
