21-year-old Teresa Renay White, accused in the March 5th aggravated assault and robbery of a Brownwood man, plead guilty to the charges in 35th District Court Wednesday.
White (pictured left) is one of four accused in the aggravated assault and robbery in a motel room in Early. While searching for the suspects in the assault, Police found marijuana, prescription drugs, and paraphernalia that resulted in additional drug possession charges against all four suspects.
Visiting Judge Don Lane agreed to a plea bargain between White and District Attorney Micheal Murray’s office. Under that agreement, White will serve ten years deferred adjudication probation, pay a $2500 fine and court costs, community service, and agree to testify for the state in the trials of Tanner Glen Chamberlain of Coleman, Christopher Norred of Blanket, and Alyshia Winstead of Early. White must also pay a portion of the restitution due the victim. Under the plea agreement, the state would drop the pending drug charges against White.
Early Police Chief David Mercer said earlier that the victim’s injuries were severe enough that he had to be transported to Scott and White Hospital in Temple due to severe facial fractures from being repeatedly kicked in the face.
