The Brownwood Fire Department responded to a pickup truck that caught fire Friday morning just off of the Truman-Harlow Overpass.

A police officer on scene said that plastic containers of gasoline ignited in the bed of the pickup.   Firefighters used water and fire extinguishers to snuff out the flames.

The driver of the Ford pickup said that he was driving south on Highway 377 when he looked in the rear view mirror and saw the flames. The driver was not injured and was able to retrieve belongings from the cab of the pickup.

Firefighters were investigating the cause of the fire.
