Funeral Services for Philip L. Mindieta, age 67, of Kentucky, formerly of Brownwood will be held Wednesday December 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brown County with Deacon John Specht officiating, interment to follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. He passed away Saturday December 10, 2011 after a lengthy illness in Temple, Texas. Philip was born on December 13, 1943 in Brownwood, Texas to Manuel and Angelita (Loredo) Mindieta.

Philip attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brownwood during his younger years and enjoyed boxing during that time; he then lived in Kentucky for about 40 years before moving back to Brownwood. He enjoyed playing golf, and jogging.

Survivors include 1 daughter; Tia Alder and husband Gayle of Hopkinsville, KY. 3 grandchildren; Amanda Alder, Thomas Alder of Hopkinsville, KY and Lacy Mobley and husband Matthew of Killeen, TX, also 1 great-grandchild; Hayden Mobley. 2 sisters; Rebecca Rios of Temple, TX and Helen Mindieta of Phoenix, AZ. 2 aunts; Rosa Cadena and Rafaela Salazar. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, also a special cousin; Corine Gonzales and husband Nino. Philip is preceded in death by his parents Manuel Mindieta and Angelita Gutierrez, 2 brothers; Juan Mindieta, and Joe Mindieta, also 1 sister; Frances Espinosa.
