Brownwood High School senior Dylan Person signed a letter of intent to run cross country at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas.

Coaches, family and friends gathered to celebrate as Person signed on Thursday.  Brownwood Athletic Director Chuck Howard and Person’s cross country coach Don Hood spoke of Person’s talent and heart.

“It’s been fun looking back.  Six years goes by fast,” said Hood.  “It’s been fun to watch the improvement, as the body grew to catch up with the heart this guy has.”

Coach Howard joined in explaining, “The thing I love about this guy, and what’s really great about high school sports, is to be able to peak in several sports.  He is a competitor.”

Person thanked his coaches and family, stating that he was glad to have had such a Godly man for a coach as Coach Don Hood.

Person is the son of Jason Person and Tiffany Price.  They expressed their pride in Person’s achievements and future opportunities.

“We’re so excited for him,” said Price.  “He has worked so hard for four years for this.”

“I always encouraged him to do his best, that’s all you can do, leave nothing on the table,” said Mr. Person.

Person worked hard during his high school years and was able to compete in both the state track meet and the state cross country meet twice.

Coach Hood summed it up stating, “It’s going to be fun to see how much better he will become.”’
