The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Coggin Avenue Baptist Church family, especially to Pastor Tim Skaggs, Pastor Bill Allen, and Pastoral Ministry Assistant Sharon Johnson. Perk so much appreciated James Wooldridge who partnered with him in his jail ministry and continues with it. The family is so grateful to Dr. Michael Cloy for his friendship and the exceptional love and care he gave to Perk. The family also thanks nurses Jennifer and Jamie of CMS Health care; the staff and nurses of Kindred Hospice of Brownwood; and the staff and nurses of Senior Care of Brownwood who cared for Perk in his last days.
Perk has left a lasting legacy. His priority in life was to love God to the fullest and to love his family. He adopted Proverbs 3:5-6 as his family’s life verse when his sons were young, knowing that this is the key to a successful life. There is so much that can be said of Perk, but what sticks out the most is that he was an exceptional godly man who lived life well. “God has a special purpose for my life. Today the most important thing I can do is obey Him. Simply do what I know He wants me to do.” Perk 1:1.
Pallbearers will be Perk’s grandsons: Robert Percy, Quinton, Jordan, Hunter, Wesley, and Andrew Easter. Honorary pallbearers will be Bailey Smith and Chase Birthisel.
In lieu of flowers, Bonnie Carrier request donations be made to the Coggin Avenue Baptist Church building fund or Coggin’s Celebrate Recovery program in memory of Perk Carrier. Donations may be mailed to Coggin Avenue Baptist Church, 1815 Coggin Avenue, Brownwood, Texas 76801.
