MurpheyPeggyFuneral Services for Peggy Jean Murphey, 80, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 6, 2012 in the Lake Brownwood First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Beckling and Richard Hetzel officiating.   Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. Thursday at the Heartland Funeral Home.  Mrs. Murphey passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Peggy Jean was born on October 4, 1931 in Morton, Texas to Charles Davidson and Noddie Mae Rex Hester.  She was a graduate of Brownwood High School and on February 14, 1953 she married Billy Murphey.  Mrs. Murphey a loving wife, mother and a published author of poetry and was a member of the Lake Brownwood First United Methodist Church.  She was also a member and past president of the Pecan Valley Unit Marine Corps League Auxiliary.

Daughter:            Sandra (Sandy) Kaye Suddreth-Wideman of Morgans Point Resort, Texas

Brother:               Johnny Charles Hester of Lewisville, Texas

Sisters:                 Evelyn Poteet of Bangs, Texas; Carol Don Cullon of Chandler, Texas

Grandchildren:  John C. Anderson, Charles Lee Davidson Murphey and Susannah McCarrell

Great Grandchildren:  Joshua Brian Anderson, Colby Lane Anderson, Joshua Tanner Pade, Travis Murphey and Corbin McCarrell.

Preceded in death by her parents, daughter Cencelia Murphey, brother Kenneth Latrell Hester and two sisters Edith Seward-Wood and Eva Sue Tollett.
