Brownwood emergency responders were called to the 1400 block of Coggin Avenue Wednesday night regarding a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle and later transported by air ambulance for treatment.
At approximately 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, a 2007 Chevy Aveo struck a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway in front of the West-T-Go convenience store on Coggin Avenue, according to Brownwood Police. According to the report, the 57-year-old male victim was reported to have non-incapacitating injuries; however, he was airlifted to Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo for treatment. Initial reports stated he had suffered a head injury.The speed limit in the area is posted at 35 mph and according to the report, the victim was impacted by the right passenger side of the front-end area of the vehicle. The victim’s condition as of Thursday morning was not available.
