LilaWardThe Pecan Valley Republican Women will host a luncheon on Thursday, January 24th, featuring Texas Federation of Republican Women Director Lila Ward who will speak and install the newly elected club officers.  The luncheon will be held at the Brownwood County Club at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.

According to organizers, Lila Ward (pictured left) has been a mainstay of Texas Republicans and especially Texas Republican Women for decades, and no one comes with more enthusiasm and experience. Lila’s love affair with the Republican Party began in the late ’70’s with Reagan’s grassroots movement to build a strong support for candidates, coffees, countrywide motorcades, and meet the candidates events. Lila served as delegate to precinct, county and state conventions for the Texas Republican Party and TFRW conventions. She was corresponding secretary and campaign activities for Bandera County Republican Women and served as TFRW SD 19 Director before redistricting. For the 2012 Texas GOP Convention in Fort Worth, she served on the Platform Committee’s subcommittee, Strengthening Our Economy. Lila is currently a Precinct Chairman, Election Judge, and Membership VP for the Bandera County Republican Party as well as TFRW SD24 Director. She writes a monthly column for a Bandera County weekly newspaper.

The public is invited to attend the luncheon on Thursday, January 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Brownwood Country Club.  Guests are invited to come hear Lila speak and congratulate the PVRW’s new officers.  The cost of the buffet is $12 payable at the door.
