Brownwood News – The Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club held it’s annual Award/Sweetheart Banquet on February 15, 2018 at the Union Presbyterian Church in Brownwood. This annual event is held to recognize members for their efforts during the previous year, and to reward their spouses, or significant others, with a night out.
The club was honored to have Brownwood Police Chief Terry Nichols, Area Trustee for Texas Oklahoma District of Kiwanis International Mark Crouch, Key Club Adviser District 12 of Texas Oklahoma District Kenyon Black, and Lt. Governor District 12 Kate Black as guests at the banquet. Chief Nichols presented the program and Mark Crouch presented timely information regarding Texas Oklahoma District news.
Several Perfect Attendance Awards, ranging from 1 year to 34 years, were presented to those members earning those awards, topped off by Bill Thedford’s award for 34 years of perfect attendance. Bill is a charter member of the Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club. The perfect attendance awards were presented by club secretary James Glasscock.

Layperson of the Year, Ralph Watts, presented by Bill Pursch
Kiwanian of the Year, Don Holland, presented by Ricky Marks
“The entire club had a great year, and we look forward to continuing our efforts to serve the youth of this great community,” said Don Holland with the Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club. “A special thanks to all of you who support ours efforts by supporting our fund raising events.”
