Paul Ray Carter, 71, of Brownwood, passed away Sunday May 31, 2015. Graveside services, under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home, will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Eastlawn Memorial Park with Bro. David Barnum officiating. Paul was born January 12, 1944, in Brownwood, Texas, to Thomas Montgomery and Charlcie (Garner) Carter. Paul was a lifetime resident of Brownwood except for the years he served in the United States Army. He was self-employed and owner of Carter’s Auto & Diesel Repair. Paul was helpful to those less fortunate than himself, willing to barter his services to those needing help. His hobbies included restoring antique cars and he loved Harley Davidson motorcycles.Paul is survived by the “Love of his life” and wife of 31 years, Linda Carter; sons, Jason Ripple and wife Shannon, Shane Ripple and wife Amy, Dennis Carter and wife Gena, Allen Carter and wife Mary Jane, and Charles Carter; daughters, Darla Maxwell and husband Tracy, Jeanette Middleton and Husband Scott, Melanie Carter, and Sherry Carter; a host of loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; father-in-law, Rip Ripple; brothers, John Carter and wife Elizabeth, Larry Carter and wife Dovie, Curtis Carter; 2 brothers-in-law and 4 sisters-in-law; friends, Jodie Parsons, Jeff Hodgekinson, and Little Bit Hyles; and his “girl” Chigger, the dog.
