Patricia Ann Miller, age 69, of Brownwood, formerly of Abilene, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017 in Brownwood.

Patricia was born on March 15, 1948 in Akron, Ohio to Betty and Richard C. Vannoy.  She graduated from Fort Stockton High School in 1966.  Patricia earned her Bachelors of Science in education from Abilene Christian College in 1970.  While attending ACC, she met and later married Emmett Miller on August 24, 1968 in Fort Stockton.

Patricia was a retired educator, having taught at Goldthwaite Elementary, New Horizons in Mills County, Evant and Abilene High School.  She was also a bible teacher in the younger age classes.  She loved teaching and had a very kind, gentle, yet firm, way of teaching.  All of her students at any level respected and loved her because she genuinely cared for them and their future.

Patricia loved the Lord, her family and church family, and would do anything for her grandchildren.  They were the joy of her life.  She was a member of the Early church of Christ in Early.

Patricia is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Emmett of Brownwood, two brothers, Gary Vannoy and wife Nancy of Abilene and Rick Vannoy of Midland; a daughter, Tanya Glasscock and husband James and their daughters, Emma and Ellie of Brownwood; a son, Terry Miller and wife Beth and their children, KayLee, Kade and Kaleton of Hawley; grandsons, Alex, Evan, and Aiden Miller of Abilene and Darian Hawthorne of Jal, New Mexico; great-granddaughter, Madalynn Hawthorne and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and in-laws.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Richard Vannoy and a son, Wayne Miller.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday, April 9, 2017 in the Early church of Christ, 900 Early Boulevard, Early, Texas.  Visitation will begin at 2:30 PM, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Medina Children’s Home, 21300 State Highway 16 North, Medina, TX 78055 or a favorite charity.
