Parenting can be scary but you can learn some tricks that will make parenting a treat.
Family Services Center is offering a new parenting program, Parenting Wisely. Individual and group classes are forming daily. Thursday, October 28th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. a preview event will be held at 901 Avenue B in Brownwood. Refreshments and door prizes will be available and child care is provided.
Parenting Wisely is a computer-based parenting program that shows you how to turn common parenting problems into parenting success; sibling conflict becomes sibling cooperation, problems with schoolwork become opportunities to excel, relationships with friends become positive learning experiences. Make spending time with your family fun again.

Proven to reduce problem behaviors and increase communication and family unity, Parenting Wisely offers well documented and tested programs that guarantee results.
Parenting Wisely is evidence-based and proven effective. Extensive research and clinical tests show that use of Parenting Wisely resulted in:
- Increased knowledge & use of good parenting skills
- A decrease in child behavior problems
- Improved problem solving
- Reduced spousal violence & violence toward their children
- Program completion rates for parents ranged from 83%-95%.
Success of the program has earned it a listing in the National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices and an OJJDP “Exemplary Program” as well as many other honors and rankings.
