votebuttonVoters began casting their ballots this week for primary races as early voting began on Tuesday.

Brown County Assistant Elections Administrator Larry Franks reports that 1138 ballots have been cast so far in early voting for the Republican Primary. The breakdown per day equals: Tuesday – 331, Wednesday – 334, Thursday – 205 and Friday – 268.

Franks said that this turnout so far equals about 5% of the registered voters in Brown County so far.  That also equals 34% of the total turnout in the November 2012 election and 79% of the November 2010 election.

He also reminds voters to remember to bring their identification when casting a ballot.

“Remind voters to bring their Drivers License for the photo ID requirement,” Franks said.  “So far we have not had any problems with the ID issue.”

Early voting continues next week in the Republican Primary at the Adams Street Community Center. The Primary Election day is March 4th.
