Otis Wesley Barnard, age 87, of Brownwood, Texas passed from this life May 10, 2015. He was born March 19, 1928 to the late Wesley Abraham Barnard and Veda Marie Barnard in Gatesville, TX.
April 3, 1945 Otis W. Barnard married Mattie A. Pack in Gatesville, TX. Mattie A. Barnard passed away April 11, 2002. They were married for 57 years.
Mr. Barnard proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Occupation in 1946 and received multiple honors. After his honorable discharge September 13, 1947, he returned to be a printer at Stephenville Printing Company.
September 1959, Mr. Barnard purchased Moore Printing Company in Brownwood, TX. He owned and operated Moore Printing Company for 36 years.
Mr. Barnard was a well respected business man. A man of good faith and love. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Brownwood.
He loved his family. Otis loved the outdoors and gardening. He fished every river in central Texas, most of the lakes, and owned a trailer lot at Lake Proctor. Otis enjoyed attending Brownwood Lion football games.
Otis is survived by his daughter Patty Lewis and husband Darwin Lewis of San Saba, TX, grandson Mark Lewis and wife Lisa Lewis of Grantham, NH, grandson Shaun Milliken of Olathe, KS, granddaughter Traci Kolinek and husband Larry Kolinek of Austin, TX. And 6 great grandchildren, Madelyn Milliken, Wesley Milliken, Reeve Kolinek, Kaylynn Kolinek, Chase Lewis and Peyton Lewis. His brothers, Billy Barnard and wife Pearl, Edward Barnard and wife Virginia, Harold Barnard and wife Judi, and sister Mary.
Otis was preceded in death by both his parents, his wife Mattie Barnard, his daughter Debby Rowell, and brother Basil Barnard.
Funeral Services for Otis Barnard, age 87, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Heartland Funeral Home.
Services provided by Brother Alvino Valdez. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm Friday, May 15, 2015 at Heartland Funeral Home in Early Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early, TX.
