Brown County emergency responders were called to the scene of a one-vehicle rollover accident on Highway 279 Friday morning, which resulted in one male being hospitalized.
Shortly after 7:00 a.m., a 29-year-old male was driving south on Highway 279 toward Brownwood, approximately 5 miles north of the Brownwood city limits, when the accident occurred. It appeared that just after a curve, the vehicle went off the road, and the driver overcorrected crossing the northbound lane, crashing through a fence where the vehicle rolled. The vehicle landed upright in a field, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Martin Molotsky. The reason for the vehicle leaving the roadway was not known at the time of the accident, according to responders.The driver was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, a Chevy Blazer, and was said to have reported some neck pain and leg pain according to emergency responders. He was transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of his injuries which appeared to be non-life threatening, according to Molotsky.

Texas DPS, Lake Bridge Volunteer Fire Department, Brownwood Fire Department, and Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of the accident.
