Emergency responders were called to a one-vehicle accident at Southside and Magnolia, involving a pickup which struck a utility pole.
At approximately 5:15 p.m. on Monday afternoon, an extended cab GMC Sierra struck the utility pole severing it from the ground and taking down electric lines with it. The vehicle jumped the curbing and came to a stop near one of the apartment buildings at Southside Village.
The driver of the vehicle was reported to be uninjured according to police. The cause of the collision was not reported at the time of the accident. Power outages were reported in the area including the traffic light at 4th Street and Indian Creek. Oncor was called to repair the damage.
Brownwood Police Department and Brownwood Fire Department responded to the scene of the accident.
