Injuries sustained from a one-vehicle accident claimed the life of the driver and injured the passenger of a pickup truck Friday, June 5th.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Martin Molotsky, the accident occurred at 3:40 p.m. Friday when the red GMC pickup was traveling north on FM 2125 near Lake Brownwood. The vehicle went off the roadway and the driver, identified as 49-year-old Terri Ann Barker of Brownwood, overcorrected and the vehicle spun off of the roadway to the west, said Molotsky. The vehicle was reported to have traveled through a swampy area and a fence, striking two trees before coming to rest upright.
Barker and her passenger, a 27-year-old female, were transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center, where Barker passed away at 10:02 p.m. from injuries sustained during the crash. The passenger was treated and released from BRMC.
According to Molotsky, not wearing a seat belt contributed to Barker’s injuries.
