A passenger car collided with a utility pole in the 1300 block of Vine Street around 6:45pm Saturday, June 18th sending the driver, the only occupant, to the emergency room. No other vehicles or people were involved in the accident according to police officers on scene.
A white Lincoln Continental crossed the oncoming lane of traffic and collided with a utility pole causing front end damage to the vehicle and splintering the utility pole nearly in two. The airbags deployed successfully across the dash of the vehicle.
Neighbors reported hearing the loud noise of the wreck and looking out of their homes to find the car in the yard across the street after it hit the pole.
The driver was conscious at the time of the accident; however he was wearing a neck brace as he was loaded into the ambulance and taken to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
