Emergency personnel responded to a reported hit-and-run accident which occurred in the 700 block of Garmon Drive (Hwy 183) at approximately 2:50pm.
According to a law enforcement and a witness at the scene, an 18-wheeler truck struck the rear of an older model Chevy pickup truck and then fled the scene south on Hwy 183. The driver of the pickup was walking around and holding his head when emergency personnel arrived, and he was transported to the hospital by Guardian EMS according.
Law enforcement along with a witness quickly tried to locate the suspect vehicle, reported to be a white 18-wheeler which would have significant front-end damage according to police; however the suspect vehicle was not able to be located at the time of the accident. Several law enforcement agencies are searching for the suspect vehicle Tuesday afternoon.
