BPDpatchSmallBrownwood Chief of Police Terry Nichols released the following information Tuesday regarding a warrant service and arrest which was the result of a methamphetamine distribution investigation in Brown County.

On Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at approximately 9:15 a.m., members of the Brownwood Police Department, Brown County Sheriff’s Office and the Early Police Department executed a narcotics search and arrest warrant in the 3700 block of 1st Street in Brownwood. The search warrant was the result of an ongoing joint investigation conducted by all three agencies into the distribution of methamphetamine in Brown County.

Investigators seized approximately 12 grams of methamphetamine packaged for distribution, marijuana, illegal prescription medication, and evidence related to the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics. This investigation is ongoing and more arrests are anticipated.

Walter Carl Salyer, W/M, DOB: 05/26/1971 was arrested without incident by members of the Brown County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team. He was booked into the Brown County Jail and charged with:

1. Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Over 4 grams and Under 200 grams in a Drug Free Zone – First Degree Felony

2. Possession of a Controlled Substance Under 28 grams in a Drug Free Zone – State Jail Felony

3. Possession of Marijuana Under Two Ounces – Class B Misdemeanor
