Funeral services for Oma B. Allison, 74 of Brownwood will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday March 12th at Heartland Funeral home in Early, TX with Bill Slaymaker officiating. Interment will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. The family will be accepting friends and family of Oma on Wednesday, March 11th from 6-8 p.m. at Heartland funeral home.
Oma passed away peacefully and was accepted into the arms of her Savior on March 7th with family members by her side.
Oma B. Allison was born on June 26th, 1940 in Knox City TX to Bud Parsons and Oma W. Greene Parsons. Oma was raised and attended school in Sweetwater, TX where she met and later married the love of her life, Leo Allison. Together they raised three sons, Gary, Buddy, and Richard Allison. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leo, son Buddy, and four brothers Earnest, M.T, Tiny, and Ollie Cox and an infant daughter Diane Allison.Survivors include her son Gary Allison and daughter-in-law Marquita ,both of Brownwood; son Richard Allison of Brownwood, four grandsons Trey Allison, Buddy Allison Jr, and Jeremy Allison all of Brownwood and Dennis Manning of Florida, four granddaughters, Chasity Allison, Chelsey Allison and Amy Allison all of Brownwood and Alyssa Lynn also of Brownwood, four great grandchildren, Hannah Allison, Christopher Allison, Bradley Hernandez and Christian Crouch. One brother John Cox and sister-in-law Louise of Midland TX, Sister-in-law Zenna Cox of Hobbs New Mexico, and numerous nieces and nephews which she loved very much. She is also survived by many, many dear friends including Louise Wood, (Manger of Dairy Queen where her son Richard is employed) Sharron Sliger, her church going pal and Michael Roger who called her “Mama Allison”.
Oma was a very special lady and anyone that knew her loved her. She often worked as a caregiver and housekeeper for others. She was a very giving person who was always willing to help others in need. She enjoyed working in the yard and gardening. She loved doing jig-saw puzzles and reading Daniel Steel novels, and her kitty cats always kept her company.
But above all, her greatest joy was her faith in the Lord Jesus and the love for her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren meant the world to her. Those who knew her were truly blessed and she will be dearly missed.
