Funeral Mass for Olva A. Alonzo, 81, of Brownwood will be held Monday, June 11, 2018 at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Queen of Peace Church with burial to follow at Greenleaf Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Davis-Morris Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7.  Mrs. Alonzo passed away Tuesday.

Olva was born January 13, 1937 in Carrizo Springs, Texas to Alejandro and Juanita (Salinas) Alaniz.  She was educated to speak, read and write English and Spanish and helped to interpret for people.  She loved to teach catechism classes to children and was a very devout woman who said prayers and Rosary every day at 3PM.  She was active with church activities and volunteered as a voting judge during elections.  Olva was a Human Rights Activist with Farm Labor Organization Committee (FLOC).  She loved socializing and playing Bingo at Senior Care Center.  Her greatest love, however, was spending time with her children and grandchildren keeping family traditions and morals strong.  Movie Day Sunday was a favorite time when she would eat pizza and watch movies and old tv shows with her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memories are her children, Virginia Almeida, Sylvia Cousino, Tony (Antonio) Alonzo, Jr, Victoria Allison, Teresa Alonzo, Sam Alonzo, Chris Alonzo, Margaret Alonzo, and Adelita Alonzo; grandchildren, Javier Almeida, Virginia Almeida, Vincent Cousino, Daniel Cousino, Pete Alonzo, Maria Alonzo, Erica Campbell, Robert Zarate, Michael Zarate, Emeterio Alonzo, Emilio Jaramillo, Chameous Alonzo, Justin Alonzo, Vincent Foust, Eric Alonzo, Thomas Newman, Taylor Newman, Brandon Alonzo, Pedro Alonzo, Cruz Alonzo, Joaquin Alonzo, Alex Alonzo and Allysa Harvey.  There are also numerous great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Alonzo, Sr. and daughters, Patricia Alonzo and Bibiana Harvey.
