gasOil prices took a big jump this week hitting a record high price for 2009.  Crude oil futures topped $79 per barrel on Friday which is up about $6 on the week.

Prices at the pump were close behind taking a spike as well.  Gasbuddy.com is showing the average price per gallon of regular unleaded fuel to be $2.35 on Friday.  It was $2.28 one week ago state wide.

Prices in Brownwood saw a 10 cent per gallon or more bump at many stations this week.  Earlier in the week it was common to see prices for regular unleaded around $2.23 per gallon.

Most stations in Brownwood and Early were sitting at $2.39 per gallon on Friday, but the expectation is to see another increase soon as oil continues to climb.
