Brownwood News – Funeral services for Brownwood Police Officer Bryan Greenrock will be held Monday, June 19th, at 2 p.m. at the Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. Streets in the area around the church will be temporarily closed to accommodate parking for the services. These streets include one southbound lane of Coggin Avenue, as well as 5th-7th Streets between Avenue E and Coggin Avenue. The northbound service road of US Hwy 377/Main Street north of Carnegie Street will be temporarily closed to through traffic from approximately 2:30-3:30 p.m.
The funeral procession will leave the church after services and travel to the Pleasant Valley Cemetery located at FM 2273 near N. US Hwy 183.
The route will be:
Coggin Avenue to 9th Street
9th Street to US Hwy 377 (Main Street)
US Hwy 377 (Main Street) to E. Commerce Street/Early Blvd.
Early Blvd. to N. US Hwy 183
N. US Hwy 183 to FM 2273
Brownwood residents should expect temporary heavy traffic in and around the procession route during this time. Residents are allowed to line the route for the processional to show respect; however, please do not park in the street or block the flow of traffic.
On Friday, June 16th, community members lined the streets to show support for law enforcement as Officer Greenrock’s body was brought to Heartland Funeral Home in Early.
Officer Greenrock was born in Brownwood and has served with the Brownwood Police Department since February 7, 2013.

A fundraiser for the family of Officer Greenrock will be hosted by the Brownwood Municipal Police Association and their spouses, along with Brown County Law Enforcement Spouses, on Saturday, June 24th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Law Enforcement Center in Brownwood. Brisket and pulled pork sandwiches will be on sale for $8 per plate. Monetary donations will also be accepted.
