I had to do it. It was time. I just couldn’t deal with the unreliability and the threat of leaving me stranded.
I traded in my old car, and bought a much newer, used car. And I am loving it.
Air conditioning! While the car isn’t moving! What a novel concept!!
The Jeep did me well, but it was just time for it to go.
When I found myself to be a single man again, I had to get out of my much loved 2-seater convertible and into something that could haul DJ equipment, guitars, and just general stuff.
I was able to actually trade vehicles with a friend who was looking for something fun, so after a bit of haggling we made a deal to swap vehicles.
It was a great move for both of us, and I don’t regret it. But I still miss that fun little car.
I could whip it around a corner and break the tail a little loose, and feel like a hotshot driver. I had the top down on more than one occasion and got looks from the ladies. Lemme tell ya, that’s always an ego booster!Of course, I still see her around town. (Yes, I do mean the car, even though I traded it to a female friend.) And that sight of the car’s top down, cruising down the road, music probably blasting, hair in the wind (OK, never really knew what that part was like!) makes me ever so slightly regret the trade.
But that’s ok, it was the right choice at the time. I could sit around and mope about the way things played out, and regret not taking other chances that presented themselves to me.
But what good would that do anyone? Absolutely none, that’s what. Whining about the past only keeps it alive in your head and your heart.
And that usually ain’t good!
