Odessa Henderson, 90, of Santa Anna, died Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Graveside funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the Santa Anna Cemetery Pavilion. Burial will be in the Santa Anna Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.
Odessa Henderson was born September 25, 1925 in Christoval, Texas to Lee Henderson and Mae Florence Barcroft Henderson. She grew up and attended school in Big Spring. In 1944, Odessa moved to Santa Anna. She worked as a nurse aide at Ranger Park Nursing Home in Santa Anna for 17 years. She enjoyed embroidery, sewing and quilting and was a member of First Methodist Church in Santa Anna.
Survivors include one sister, Velma Henderson of Santa Anna; two nephews, Larry Henderson and wife, Carol, of Big Spring, Eddie Henderson; great niece, Lana Saverance and husband, Shanan, of Big Spring; great-great niece and nephews, Logan, Brylee and Landyn Saverance and several cousins.
Besides her parents, Odessa was also preceded in death by five brothers, J.D. Henderson, C.L. Henderson, Ira Henderson, Homer Henderson and Elmer Henderson.
