Northwest Elementary invited students, parents and staff to join them for a Family Reading Party on September 29th. The theme was “Take me Out to the Ballgame!” and PTO members helped parents get signed up while kids showed off their dance moves, ate Cracker Jacks and played with toy baseballs that were handed out to those in attendance.
After the dancing, Northwest Elementary Librarian, Meghan Blake, read a baseball story written by David Schnell (pictured above). Several parents and students attended the event and it appeared to be a hit with all who participated. At the end of the party each child was given a book to take home to read with their family.The staff at Northwest Elementary expressed their thanks to everyone who came out and supported the Family Reading Night.
