On Thursday, May 17th, Northwest Elementary faculty organized a retirement party for Nan Durand, Marti Jones, Susan King and Hoss Lugo. The guests of honor received a farewell gift, individual cakes, and a certificate presented by Kevin Gabaree, Brownwood ISD Deputy Superintendent.
Mr. Lugo worked as a custodian and has been a familiar face at Northwest for 21 years. Ms. Durand served as a teaching assistant for 8 years. Mrs. King, a speech pathologist, has been in education for 33 years; 25 of which have been in Brownwood ISD and the last 18 years working with students of Northwest. Mrs. Jones served Northwest Elementary as a 1st grade teacher, and has been in education for 21 years.
