*Brownwood Fire Dept who brought out their Hazmat Decontamination Showers for the residents to be able to take a shower
*The State of Texas donated a semi truck of bottle water
*Robert and Richie from Dam Volunteer Fire Dept
**And especially to “Our Guardian Angels” Early High School Football team, their coach, Robert and Richie (from the Dam Vol. Fire Dept) and to Jerry Biel (of Thunderbird).
We had been working from 8am to 10:30pm doing what we could for the residents of Thunderbird Bay, Tamarack Mountain, and Harbor Point since Monday during their water outage. Brent Bush of Brown County Emergency Preparedness told us to expect the semi-truck from San Antonio late Tuesday night, by that time we were exhausted. We saw the lights from the semi-truck and all let out a sigh that we had to get up and unload a “semi by hand” after working so hard throughout the day. But to our surprise, behind the lights of the semi were more lights, and more lights and more lights. All of the cars following the semi parked and out poured a handful of teenagers from each vehicle. We looked at each other and tears welled up in our eyes. Brent Bush had brought the coach and the Early High School Football team. With the help of these wonderful kids and Jerry Biel, we were able to unload the truck in less than an hour. Imagine 22 pallets of water!!! These kids do not know how much they lifted the hearts of these 12 exhausted volunteer firefighters and medics. These kids are our “Guardian Angels”. Thank you so much for your help and for lifting our spirits.
