The North Lake American Legion and North Lake Volunteer Fire Department will hold their annual Independence Day parade this Saturday, June 30th.  The parade will begin at 10am from the American Legion building located at 14600 County Road 422 and will travel through Harbor Point, Thunderbird Bay, and Tamarack Mountain.

Mrs. Ruth Chadwick will be the grand marshal of the parade.  She will be riding behind the fire truck in a red pickup with 5 (five) generations of her family.  Mrs. Chadwick will be accompanied by her daughter, Betty Henry; granddaughter, Sharla Weekley; great grandson, John Dillard and 2 great great grandsons, Zayden and Xavier Dillard.

Mrs. Chadwick has lived in Harbor Point for 32 years, and she is a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Brownwood VFW Auxiliary.  She has 3 children, 7 grand children, 16 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.  Before her retirement she worked at the 4-H center in the kitchen.  Before coming to Lake Brownwood, she lived in various places in Texas with her husband, H. L. Chadwick (deceased) while he worked in the oil field.

The parade will assemble at the American Legion and drive down Harbor drive to Thunderbird Bay to their swimming pool, back into Harbor Point to their pool and then into Tamarack Mountain to their pool and back to the American Legion building.  There will also be a meal Saturday night of bbq brisket for a donation at the American Legion.
