Brownwood emergency responders were called to a rollover accident around 12:30 AM Sunday involving a Chevy Cruze and a Chevy pickup in the 2000 block of Southside Drive.
According to emergency responders on scene, the female driver of the Cruze had reached for her cell phone and struck a parked pickup, causing the car to flip upside down in the middle of the roadway. The male and female occupants of the Cruze were wearing their seatbelts and were not injured, according to police. Airbags of the Cruze deployed during the accident.
The pickup was parked in front of a residence on Southside, and the impact damaged the driver’s side of the vehicle and pushed it several feet.
Police said that it did not appear that the Cruze was traveling above the speed limit.
