Brownwood emergency responders were called to two separate traffic accidents Tuesday that occurred 20 minutes apart with vehicle damage but no injuries.

The first accident occurred in the 300 block of Carnegie at about 4:45 PM, when a Chevy crossover rear ended a Nissan crossover.

The drivers of both vehicles as well as the child and canine passengers of the Nissan were reported to be uninjured.   Both vehicles sustained damage, as pictured above.

As clean up began on the accident at Carnegie, another accident was reported on Coggin Avenue at 9th Street around 5:05 PM.

First responders arrived to find a two-vehicle accident which sent one of the vehicles into the nearby Christ Church, stopping just at the pillars of the church.

According to witnesses on scene, the driver of the Chevy Equinox was traveling northeast in the inside lane of Coggin when it veered into the oncoming lane of traffic attempting to turn onto 9th Street.  The Equinox struck the front corner of the Ford SUV, causing it to side swipe a utility pole and then travel into the yard of the church, stopping at the entryway.

The female driver of the Ford was shaken from the accident but thankful that everyone involved was uninjured.  She was the only occupant in the Ford.  The male driver of the Equinox was also uninjured, but also shaken from the accident.

Brownwood Fire Department, Brownwood Police Department and Guardian EMS responded to both accident scenes.

Pictured at top is a scene from the first wreck on Carnegie.
