Brownwood News – On Monday, May 25, 2020 the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department announced 172 negative test results, one positive, and one death.
The National Guard tested a Brownwood nursing facility last week (not the nursing home with multiple cases) as part of the state-wide initiative to test all nursing home facilities. We will call this facility nursing home #2. We will call the nursing home with multiple COVID-19 cases nursing home #1.
Of the negative test results, 42 were from the drive through screening on May 16th, 129 were from nursing home #2, and one was a community member.
The new positive is an employee of nursing home #2 who has not traveled outside of the area. There were no nursing home residents or other employees who tested positive at nursing home #2.
The COVID-19 related death is a male in his 80’s who is a relative of an employee at nursing home #1 who had COVID-19.
The total COVID-19 cases in Brown County is now 57 and 9 deaths.
