The US Department of Labor has implemented new rules regarding overtime pay for salaried workers. Under the new rules effective December 1st, employers will be required to pay overtime to salaried workers who make $47,476 per year or less. The new rules will affect 370,000 workers in Texas.
The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce will host a luncheon on June 17th with guest speaker Brian Sullivan to outline the new rules and how it will impact employers and employees.

The luncheon will be held Friday, June 17th at the Brownwood Country Club. Buffet lunch opens at 11:30 AM and the program will begin at noon. Cost is $14 per person for the lunch.
Brian Sullivan serves as Associate General Counsel for the Texas Hotel & Lodging Association (THLA), the largest state hotel association in the country. In that role, he helps lead the expert legal department of THLA in its superior legal services, educational resources, and legislative representation to more than 3,300 members.
Brian earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Communication Studies and Sociology from Stephen F. Austin State University. He later graduated with both his Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degrees from Texas Tech University.
