Brownwood News –

Brown County Commissioners on Monday, February 24, 2020 approved appointment of two new members to the Brown County Child Welfare Board.  Mica Allgood and Tobias Turney were welcomed to the Board on a unanimous vote by County Commissioners.  Jonathan Harvey introduced the new members whose bios are below.

Mica Allgood


Mica Allgood is married to Jody Allgood and they have two teenaged boys.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Howard Payne University.  Mica has worked with traumatized children and foster/adopt families since 1992.  She recently took a position with River Crest Hospital as their Marketing Rep for this area.  Mica has been a Licensed Child Placing Agency Administrator since 2006 and considers Mental Health and Children as something that she is very passionate about.  Mica wants to be a part of helping communities to become more aware and supportive of one another while collaborating on combating issues that surround us so that together, we can become better.  Mica enjoys going on camping trips with family and friends and doing crafts in her spare time.

 

Tobias Turney


Tobias was born in Stephenville but moved to Hico and finished high school there in 2014.  He attended Howard Payne University and finished in 2017 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Youth Ministry.  In 2018, Tobias finished his Master’s Degree in Theology and Ministry.  He now serves as the youth and children’s pastor at Calvary Baptist Church.  He is engaged to be married in October and looks to serve the children of Brown County with everything he has.
