NationalDayOfPrayer2015

Pleasant Grove Baptist Church host the National Day of Prayer event on Thursday, May 7th at the Stuart Coleman Pavilion between the Depot Civic & Cultural Center and the Adam Street Community Center, located at 600 E. Depot Street in Brownwood.

The event will start at 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.  Those attending are encouraged to bring chairs and water or something to drink.

The service is open to the public and there is no charge to attend.  Organizers invite the public to “Come and help us pray for our Nation.”

In addition to this service, Good Samaritan Ministries will host a time of prayer at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, in front of the GSM office, located at at 305 Clark Street.  This service also is in conjunction with the 64th annual National Day of Prayer.

The theme for 2015 is “Lord, Hear Our Cry,” emphasizing the need for individuals, corporately and individually, to place their faith in the unfailing character of their Creator, who is sovereign over all governments, authorities, and men.  Scripture for this year is I Kings 8:28:  “Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day.”

“Pray that as a nation we would return to God. As we call on God, let us do so by genuine faith, believing that He hears our prayers. God can heal this great land, for which our forefathers fought and died. We need spiritual renewal, we need a revival in America, and we need each and every one to pray. Lord, Hear Our Cry!” said the Rev. Franklin Graham, son of evangelist Billy Graham, said in a statement on the National Day of Prayer Task Force, based in Colorado Springs.
