Graveside services with military honors for Nathan R. (Nate, Okie) Wall, age 90, of Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at Greenleaf Cemetery with Pastor Ruben Packer officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home & Cremations. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Wall died Wednesday morning at his home.
Nate was born December 10, 1919 in Maysfield, Oklahoma, the son of the late James Randell and Zella Mae (Foster) Wall. He had been a resident of Brownwood for many years. He served during World War II in the U. S. Army, and worked for the City of Brownwood as well as the Brownwood Independent School District. Nate married Betty Watson on November 9, 1996 in Brown County.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Wall, of Brownwood; children, Joey and Sandra Wall of Brownwood, Margaret Newton of Lawton, Oklahoma, Scott and LaQuisha Glass of Killeen and Kathy Newman and fiancé, Justin Pierce, of Hawley and 17 grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Nate was preceded in death by his first wife, Dovey Wall, son, Jerry Robert Wall and his siblings.
