Nancy Smith, age 74, of Brownwood went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 26, 2012. She was born on May 24, 1938 in Hanford, California to Frank and Lola Yancy. She was married to Billy Earl Smith, Sr. on November 5, 1955. Nancy has been a native of Brownwood for over 50 years. Calvary Baptist Church was her church home and family for over 35 years.
As a disciple of Christ and a long-time childcare provider, many children and parents have seen the love of Jesus Christ through our mother. Expressing her love and sharing her talents as a gifted seamstress, she often created children and baby doll clothes for friends and family. Mom had much joy in seeing her “granny dresses” in church. In her belief, “a house is a house, a home is what you make of it”, she was a loving wife and mother who lived a Godly example every day of her life, leaving a legacy of witness now and forever in the lives she’s touched.
