McGlothlin0001Funeral services for Myrle Wayne McGlothlin, Sr., age 86, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 4, 2012 at the New Life Assembly of God Church in Brownwood .  Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Heartland Funeral Home.  Mr. McGlothlin passed away Saturday, June 02, 2012 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Myrle was born November 11, 1925 in Comanche, Texas to George Dennis and Mary Ione Drury McGlothlin.  He served in the United States Navy during World War II.  Myrle was proud to have served his country and was proud to be a United States Veteran.  On January 18, 1947 he married Dorothy Jean Fuller in Deleon and she preceded him in death on June 16, 2009 after 62 years of marriage.  A resident of Brownwood since 1947,  Myrle was a life long and faithful member of the New Life Assembly of God Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Brownwood.  Family and faith was very important to Myrle.  He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sports.  His favorite teams were the Brownwood Lions and the Houston Astros.  After his retirement from 3M, Myrle enjoyed reading, gardening, Senior Citizens Center, and playing dominoes.

He is survived by his 3 sons:

Audrey McGlothlin Anderson and husband Christopher of Deer Park TX
