Micheal Murray, 35th Judicial District Attorney of the State of Texas, will be honored as the Prosecutor of the Year by the Texas Narcotics Officers Association.  Each year one nomination is made from each of the five regional chapters, with only one nominee being recognized as the Prosecutor of the Year.

Murray was nominated by Narcotics Detective Bruce Spruill of the Brownwood Police Department and Narcotics Agent Billy Bloom with the West Central Texas Inter Local Crime Taskforce.   After being nominated a selection committee narrows down candidates based on the prosecutor’s record on drug related cases and the goals of the prosecutor’s office.

“Our office has received other awards, but this is the first award recognizing our prosecution efforts,” stated Murray.

Murray will receive the honor of the Prosecutor of the Year Award at the annual conference of the Texas Narcotics Officers Association Wednesday night in Austin, Texas.
