A motorcycle accident on Sunday afternoon claimed the life of a 52-year-old woman, according to Brownwood Police.
According to the accident report, the driver was identified as 52-year-old Linda Roycene Stone of Princeton, Texas. The accident occurred at approximately 3:37 p.m. in the 1500 block of Main Street. A witness statement indicated that Stone, who was traveling northbound on a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle, had gone into the left lane of the Truman Harlow Overpass, swerved, striking the center barrier and lost control. At that time, she was thrown from the motorcycle, striking the light pole positioned in the center barrier, and landed in the center of the roadway, according to the report.
Stone was transported by Air Evac helicopter to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene for treatment; however, she passed away later that evening at approximately 7:39 p.m.
