Cool rain hit the Brownwood area this morning, giving at least temporary relief from the heat and a much needed drink for the ground. The steady rain lasted for several hours this morning.
The Wunderground.com reports officially that Brownwood received .43 of an inch of rain this morning at the airport. Unofficial reports in town show close to a half inch.
The rain also postponed the TTAB State Tournament games that were scheduled this morning. Games were resuming this afternoon.
Brownwood has a 30% chance of isolated thunderstorms for the rest of today and about a 40% chance tomorrow.
