Nesa Morelock recently announced that after almost six years of service on the Brownwood School Board of Trustees, she will not be seeking re-election this November.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve on the Board of Trustees of Brownwood ISD,” said Morelock. “I’ve been fortunate to work with a ‘forward-thinking’ superintendent, Dr. Blincoe, and a dedicated, progressive board.”
Morelock’s decision means there will be no incumbents running for her district in the upcoming election, November 6th. The announcement gives interested citizens the chance to file for election ahead of the Aug 20th deadline.
“The teachers and staff of this district are truly amazing professionals, who are dedicated to educating these children,” Morelock said. “I am very proud to have been a part of this successful school district.”
Morelock’s seat (Place Two) is one of three that will be included in the election. Places Four and Five are also up for re-election and will be voted on in November. Board of Trustees Application packets are now available for pickup from Karen Dempsey in the BISD Central Office located at 2707 Southside Drive.
