Light snow will continue across the advisory area this afternoon and early evening. Then…the upper disturbance is expected to move east of west central Texas. Some locations in the advisory area have already received between 1 to 2 inches of snow accumulation. For the remainder of today…and additional one inch of snow accumulation is possible. A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities…and use caution while driving.
The previous advisory noted: Tuesday, precipitation across west central Texas will be in the form of snow. Significant snowfall is possible with this system as it moves east across west central Texas Tuesday. Wintry precipitation will end across west central Texas Tuesday evening as the disturbance moves farther east.
A mix of sleet and snow will begin mainly after 3 am cst tonight across the northern Edwards Plateau and Concho Valley. The precipitation will quickly transition to all snow shortly after daybreak Tuesday morning. Snowfall amounts generally ranging from 2 to 4 inches are possible. Although identifying exactly where the greatest snowfall totals will occur remains uncertain and all current indicators point to mainly the Concho Valley and the Big Country. Snow accumulation across the advisory area may impact travel.
