The Brownwood Lyric Theatre is set to kick off a stage production of Ken Ludwig’s “Moon Over Buffalo” on Thursday, September 15th, and tickets to the performances are now on sale.

There will be 10 performances scheduled for the show from September 15th-25th at the Brownwood Lyric Theatre in Downtown Brownwood.  Evening performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on September 15-17 and 22-24.  Matinee shows will be at 2:30 p.m. on September 17, 18, 23 and 25.

Ken Ludwig’s “Moon Over Buffalo” is a madcap comedy full of zany characters. Aging actors George and Charlotte Hay are facing dwindling careers at a repertory theatre in Buffalo, NY. Each night they alternate between two plays, “Cyrano de Bergerac” and Noel Coward’s “Private Lives,” wishing they were filming major motion pictures in Hollywood instead. Suddenly, everything turns upside down, and it looks like they may get their wish: acclaimed director Frank Capra is looking for new leads for his film “The Scarlet Pimpernel,” and he plans to attend their matinee performance to see whether George and Charlotte fit the bill! There are only a few tiny problems: Charlotte has left George, George is busy getting drunk, their daughter has just arrived with a new fiancé and angry ex-boyfriend, and no one knows whether they are supposed to be performing “Private Lives or Cyrano.” Can the matinee be saved? The show must go on, but which one?

Tickets to the shows cost $12 for adults and $8 for students and can be purchased now at
