Mitch Moore Brownwood High School

The Brownwood ISD school board unanimously approved Mitch Moore as the next principal of Brownwood High School.  Moore, a current assistant principal, will follow in the footsteps of current principal Bill Faircloth who recently announced his retirement.

Moore will begin his first year as BHS principal for the 2014-2015 school year.  He has worked for the school district for 19 years, 5 as assistant principal.

“I appreciate the opportunity,” Moore said after the announcement was made Monday night.

Moore graduated from Brownwood High School in 1986.  He received his BBA degree in Accounting from Abilene Christian University in 1990 and a Master of Education degree in Administration from Tarleton State University in 2002. He spent five years working as an accountant in private industry before moving to Brownwood in 1995 to work in education as a math teacher and coach.

Faircloth announced last week that he would retire after the current school year after 10 years with the district.
