The trial of Brownwood Police Officer Lt. Randall Krpoun ended on Friday afternoon in a mistrial after the jury was deadlocked.
Krpoun’s trial began Monday stemming from two charges of official oppression. He was accused of pushing down a woman at a bar and grill on October 3, 2008 and unlawfully shutting down the bar. Krpoun was suspended from the police force without pay when he was indicted on the charges.
Krpoun took the stand in his own defense on Thursday, and the case went to the jury Friday morning. Jurors were unable to reach a unanimous decision so the judge declared a mistrial
